In high-containment laboratories (ABSL-3 or above), performing in vivo imaging of infected animals using micro-CT systems presents several operational and biosafety challenges. Current isolation solutions are either non-transparent, bulky, or incompatible with CT scanners, preventing full-body imaging and introducing artifacts. Moreover, these systems are not disposable, requiring time-consuming sterilization that increases the risk of contamination and operational delays.
The present invention relates to a disposable, inflatable, and transparent polyethene-based biocontainment bag designed specifically for in vivo imaging of live animals using micro-CT systems within Animal Biosafety Level 3 (ABSL-3) or higher laboratories. The invention ensures safe, sterile, and contamination-free imaging of infected animals without compromising imaging quality or biosafety protocols.
